Tropicalia fue en movimiento de fines de los 60’s y principio de los 70’s compuesto por quienes hoy son los principales referentes de la música brasilera. Entre los participantes de este movimiento se destacan Caetano Veloso, Gilberto Gil y Gal Costa que son para nosotros los más conocidos quizás. Según el crítico Pedro Alexandre Sánches Tropicalia fue como “la decadencia bonita de la samba”. Estos músicos agarraron el Folklore Brasilero y le metieron sus guitarras eléctricas y sus sinfónicas melodías. En fin fueron hippies tropicales =)
